Working with Dave saved my life. When we first met I was a mess and scared beyond belief, I felt like I had lost everything good that life had to offer. Dave was able to relate to my struggle, inspire me to work towards a better life, and give me the tools to be able to achieve it. Very quickly everything changed and I was doing things I never thought I’d be able to do. My personal relationships started to heal, my coworkers had their colleague back, and most importantly I started waking up each morning feeling like I had something special to offer this world. I still work with Dave today, and value our relationship deeply. He is an honest, loyal, hard working man filled with love and zest for life that is truly unique and inspiring.
I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Dave in multiple facets of self improvement and personal evolution, and he has played an integral part in my ability to overcome many conceptual, spiritual, and real world obstacles.
Dave is a leader by example and action, providing executable, goal oriented, pragmatic steps to achieving calculable personal growth. As a martial arts practitioner, athlete, and competitor, it was vital for me to work with an individual with a proven track record of success, and a self subscribed methodology that I could see work in real world situations.
Employing Dave's simple, solution based strategies, coupled with direct action, has paid dividends toward my success on the field and in the office.
Newly out of culinary school, I wanted to try my chops at catering. Having little experience, a mutual friend put me in contact with Diesel. We couldn't have been more opposite...I'm the nice blond Midwest girl and he was the tattooed, loud mouthed, tell-it-like-it-is Chef. He scared the daylights out of me, but I knew on day one that what I would learn from him would be immeasurable. The knowledge of food preparation and serving was great training, but the lessons he taught me in our hours in the kitchen together are what I take away from our time together. His integrity and honesty are truly an inspiration to me and I have come to him NUMEROUS times in the last 10 years for advice. I now live 2,500 miles away but still consider him a close friend who I can count on to either give me honest feedback or moral support. Can't wait to see where he goes from here.
Dave has many jiu jitsu competitions under his belt, and has had a reasonable amount of success. This has shown me that it doesn’t matter how old I am, or how I am feeling, I can and should compete just because I want to. On competition days, he is one of the biggest cheerleaders and best coaches for my particular skill set. Knowing he is there lets me know I will have someone positive in my corner regardless of the outcome of my matches. Even if I don’t get to compete as often as I’d like to, Dave has helped me develop a positive attitude about competitions, and that the size of the event doesn’t matter, and that I should simply trust in my skill set and myself.
The first time I met Dave he tried to break my arm. The second time he almost choked me out. Granted, we were competing in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament. After losing to Dave a second time we started talking. He was so gracious and helpful with letting me know about the things I could improve on from our matches together. We traded contact information and became friends. Even though we live pretty far apart, we are in pretty consistent contact. We both have a passion for jiu jitsu, we both live the same type of healthy lifestyle, we are both fathers. Dave’s style of parenting and lifestyle have been great examples to me on how I try to live my life. He always gives me great insight into things I share with him and challenges that I am presented with (both on the mats, and as a parent or just a man trying to live life). Dave is a wonderful example of how men should be living in our society today.
